Our mission
Nobody should lose a case to a formatting quirk.
WhatsApp, Snapchat and Instagram each export differently, and some barely export at all — which is why screenshots work too. A chat export leaves things out in ways that look completely ordinary. We exist so that a gap in a file never gets read as a gap in a relationship.
What is actually at stake
A missing year that was never missing.
Before late 2023, WhatsApp did not write answered calls into the conversation. Only missed ones. A tool that simply reformats your chat will print that as fact.
Illustrative figures from a real five-year conversation. The amber is what a plain printout would have silently left out.
An officer reading “no calls in 2021” does not see a formatting quirk. They see a couple who never spoke.
What we commit to
Four promises, and what each one costs us.
A commitment that costs nothing to keep is not a commitment. Each of these has closed off something we could otherwise have built, sold, or learned from.
We will never receive your conversation
Not encrypted-at-rest, not access-controlled, not 'only for support purposes'. Never received at all. This is the one commitment the others rest on, and it is enforced by architecture rather than policy.
We will always state the smaller number
Where the data cannot support a firm figure we give the floor and label it as one. Nothing we produce will ever claim more on your behalf than your own file can prove.
We will always show where a fact came from
Every line points back into your chat. If you cannot check it yourself, we should not be asking an officer to believe it.
We will tell you the bad news first
If your record has a hole in it, you will hear it from us on the page, not from an officer months later. That is the whole reason to look before you file.
The choice underneath it
We gave up the data on purpose.
Every ordinary instinct said to collect it. Conversations at this scale would make a remarkable dataset — a model that writes better statements, benchmarks across thousands of cases, a product that improves the more people use it.
We decided not to, and built so we could not change our minds later. A promise is worth what the company making it is worth on its worst day: after an acquisition, under a subpoena, or in the week the money runs out. So your conversation is not something we protect. It is something we never hold.
Who this is for
Three people we keep in mind.
Every wording decision on this site was settled by asking which of them it serves.
People filing for themselves
Most people who arrive here have no lawyer, a deadline, and a request for more evidence they did not expect. They should not need to understand file formats to prove their own marriage is real.
People who are not technical
The person with the strongest case may be the least comfortable with a computer. Every decision about wording on this site was made for them, not for the engineer who would find the jargon version faster.
Lawyers who need it to hold up
A record is only useful if it survives someone trying to pull it apart. Stating limits plainly is not modesty — it is what makes the rest of the document defensible.
The standard we hold
Account for every line, or stop.
The rule that keeps the rest honest: if a single line of your file cannot be read and placed, the run halts rather than printing a total that quietly excludes it.
Most of what we know was found by trying to break our own results, and every one of those findings became a check that fails loudly. A wrong number that looks right is far more dangerous here than an error message.
What that means for you
Every figure you hand in can be traced back to your own chat, and anything we could not account for is named on the page instead of dropped.
Illustrative breakdown of one conversation. Every line lands somewhere.
And the limit of it
We are not the ones who decide.
It would be easy to let an organised document imply reassurance. We will not do that.
We are not a law firm
We do not assess your case, predict a decision, or tell you what to file. People use this at a frightening moment, and guessing at those answers would be a cruelty dressed up as a feature. If your case is difficult, talk to a qualified immigration lawyer — a good record makes that conversation better, it does not replace it. Read the full note.
See for yourself
Look at your own record first.
